ABOUT MEG BUTTS & THE GROWTH COMPASS

Strategy. Operations. Leadership.

The work that makes growth actually stick.

I’ve spent my career solving the problems that keep founders up at night — and building the systems that let great leaders finally lead.

MY STORY

I didn’t start out planning to be a coach.

My background is in operations, engineering, and consulting. I spent years working inside businesses — real ones, with real friction — learning how organizations actually function versus how they’re supposed to function. I became the person leaders called when something wasn’t working and they couldn’t figure out why.

That work eventually led me to EOS — the Entrepreneurial Operating System — and I found a framework that gave language to everything I’d been doing intuitively. More importantly, it gave founders and their teams a shared operating system for making decisions, holding each other accountable, and actually executing on the vision.

I went deeper. I stepped into the Integrator seat myself. And I learned something that nobody really talks about in the EOS world: being the Integrator is one of the hardest and loneliest leadership roles in any organization — and almost nobody prepares you for it properly.

You’re expected to hold the vision, run the team, manage up to the Visionary, and keep the whole operating rhythm intact. Usually from day one. Usually without a guide.

I watched talented, capable people struggle in that seat — not because they weren’t good enough, but because they were doing it without the right support. Learning by trial and error when the stakes are that high is expensive. For them, for their teams, and for the organizations counting on them.

That’s what led me to build The Growth Lab. And it’s why I continue to work with Founders as an Interim Integrator — because I know what it means to sit in that seat, and I know what’s possible when the right systems and the right people are finally aligned.

If I could go back in time and offer myself one piece of advice as a new Integrator, it would be “you don’t have to navigate this seat alone.”

The greatest growth spurts throughout my career have come when I chose to involve others in my journey; to collaborate with and lean on peers, mentors, and industry experts in order to overcome challenges and level up my game.

Through The Growth Lab, I aim to provide that same support for other Integrators.

WHAT I BELIEVE

The values that guide every engagement.

Real commitment

Every entrepreneur with a real commitment deserves an operator who is just as committed to their vision as they are.

Real understanding

The best coaching isn’t about handing someone a playbook. It’s about truly understanding their specific situation deeply enough to know which conversation will change everything.

Real support

Integrators shouldn’t have to figure out the hardest seat in the room through trial and error. The right support at the right time changes the entire trajectory.

Real momentum

Operational excellence isn’t the goal — it’s the foundation. The goal is a business that runs with enough clarity and momentum that the people inside it can actually do their best work

Real conversations

Honest conversations produce better outcomes than comfortable ones. I’d rather challenge someone who is ready to grow than tell them what they want to hear.

WHO I WORK WITH

Two groups of people I believe in completely

FOR INTEGRATORS

In the seat. Ready to lead with intention.

The Growth Lab is a coaching program built specifically for Integrators who are early in their journey of this critical seat. We start with a diagnostic that maps your actual challenges — not a generic curriculum — and build a roadmap from there.

FOR FOUNDERS

Vision is clear. Execution needs a partner

I work with founders as an Interim Integrator — stepping into the operational seat with the EOS fluency and leadership depth to make real change, at a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire.

CLIENT STORIES

Kinds words from great people.

★★★★★

– AEROSPACE MANUFACTURING

For years I had worked to scale my family-owned aerospace machining company but kept getting hung up in the day-to-day operations. I knew I needed to bring in someone that complemented my abilities and would allow me to step out of several roles I was doing.

Meg helped me understand my evolving role as Founder to best support the company’s growth. We transitioned my focus from managing day-to-day activities to maintaining the high-level strategy and vision for my business and hired a leadership team.

As a result of our work together, we were able to maintain profitability while increasing sales by 75% in just 12 months.

– DISTILLERY

“Our work together spanned multiple sets of problems and projects.  Everything from executing a $4.0M capital expansion at the distillery, to implementing a preventative maintenance program, to re-organizing the org chart of our machining company.  That and a lot more.

Meg is one of the most competent individuals I have had the pleasure to work with.  Whatever project or problem she is working on, she dedicates her full energy and effort.  She doesn't know how to dedicate less.”

– HEALTHCARE

“Even a legacy business can start to feel like a startup again when you decide it's time to 10X. That moment when you recognize you need more leadership bandwidth, a stronger operating platform, and a deeper leadership bench is pivotal. Choosing EOS is a powerful step. Partnering with Meg to guide that transition is what makes it transformation.

Meg embodies everything you want in an Integrator. She takes ownership of the whole enterprise, not just a function. As we move the chess pieces together, she fills critical gaps, strengthens accountability, and helps architect the leadership structure required for real scale.

What stands out most is the way her presence elevates the organization itself. As she helps recruit and integrate additional leaders, the stature of your company becomes magnified to the high-caliber talent you want at the table. The right people are drawn to strength, clarity, and vision, and Meg brings all three.”
